After ten years of dreaming about Zuss visiting the Burning Man festival, Nevada, a dream came true for us.
These pictures were taken the first couple of days, then the camera jammed through the Playa dust..

..at the Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, waiting to check in.

Yeah! Bye bye everyone, we're finally flying to the US!

We felt like we got the VIP treatment; because when Sharon and Lance picked us up from Reno airport, they had made a special Welkom Zuss sign. Sharon even found the Dutch word for Welcome...
Then Sharon and Lance brought us to the hotel where Sascha was so kind to share his room with us for the night.
This kind Canadian guy would also stay at the International Burner Hostel, and that night he brought me to Hagey, who was one of the Camp Masters, living in Reno. There I allready met some fellow burners.
Next day, Sharon and Lance picked us up from the hotel, then we picked up another lady from the airport, and then we went shopping with Sharon, shopping for Burning Man. Fran, our good fairy, had allready brought a big cooler and dry goods-box to Sharon, with all kinds of stuff in it, and thank goodness Sharon knew what to buy, she was a great help.

When the evening came on Sunday, we all went to visit friends of Sharon and Lance at a Ranch, close to the Playa.
There we ate and drank and waited for the sun going down, the moon was almost full and came up: when could we leave for Burning Man?

When we arrived at the Gate the first time, we were too early, and send to the D-Lot, and there we got a note saying: Please forgive us that we're early and it will never happen again!
After a while we could go back in line to really enter the Burning Man, just before 12.00 o'clock Sunday night.

Lance
We stayed at their camp that night, and the next morning, Sharon and Lance enjoyed the bracelets they picked out. Later that day they drove us to Fran's and Jeff's camp.

That day we finally met of our good fairy Fran, after months and months of email and telephone contact, there we were, face to face, so great meeting her!

On Monday, the Playa was almost empty, we saw it growing and growing.

Krijnie and Fran
Mohammed's Mini Martini & Erotica camp, that's the name of the theme camp of Fran and Jeff. Here you see Krijnie (or KJ) and Fran talking and making the theme camp's necklaces.

Mohammed, Reckless
Mohammed making cocktails for us all, and Reckless at the right, he is the one we worked for this summer to make him a Zuss outfit. He also had a tent for us, so later that day we drove to our BRIBH, where we would stay.

The Black Rock International Burner Hostel
Our Home for this week, with almost 200 other camp members, from all over the world. Was great being there, with the jam sessions, the trips with the art car, fire-truck, meeting all those nice and experienced Burning Man people, great experience!

Can you spot us?

Six o'clock, that's where we were, right behind Center Camp, and we could see the Green Man from there.

The night of the Temple of Forgiveness Burn, Krijnie and I really dressed up. So sad Krijnie's health kept her from going to the Playa, and when we found a wagon to take her in, there was a flat tire, so she decided to stay at the camp that night.

Thank you, Fran and Jeff, Hagey and Kiwi and Beave and Desert Roamer and Sascha and Bad Santa and Irish and Moonpuppy and Empress Rosa and Xray and Tal and Paul and all the other wonderfull people who we have met. Like Curt, who gave me my Playa name; Desert Flower.
