Green Millennium 2001

From the 19th to 22nd of April, the world's top fashion designers and paparazzi will be gathering at Canada Place for the biggest fashion event of the year, International Fashion Week, being held in Vancouver for the first time.
Meanwhile, a few blocks away, a very different fashion show is taking place.

On Friday April 20th, two days before Earth Day, the Green Millennium Fashion Show will be held at BCIT's downtown campus at 555 Seymour St. This grassroots community event will feature environmental and ethical alternatives for those of us who know that what we buy is a big part of our personal impact on the planet.

Over 100 outfits designed by Lower Mainland fashion students will be featured. Everything from organic cotton to hemp fibers, from third world sweatshops to recycled materials will be covered at what will be a thought-provoker for the industry and an eye-opener for the public.

This year all profits from the event will go to support the Burns Bog Conservation Society's urgent and timely campaign to 'Save the Bog'. With an election around the corner, timing could not be better to raise public awareness and action to protect the world's largest urban green space, Burn's Bog.

Some of Vancouver's top fashion, entertainment, and environmental personalities are either partaking in the show or expected to be in the audience. Young, vibrant and environmentally-motivated Corrie Miller of Rock 101's Morning Show will be the MC for the evening, while six of Vancouver's top TV celebrities will be guinea pigs for the 'VV Rerun Contest' where six design students have a $20 budget at Value Village to put together fashionable outfits for these local celebrities to catwalk.

An opportunity for Vancouver fashion students to showcase their talents, promote awareness of environmental issues and support a worthy cause, the Green Millennium Fashion Show will be Vancouver's premier Earth Day 2001 event sure to return for years to come.

And Zuss Fashion Design will be part of this!
We send in some sets of our rubber 'jewelry' to show on the runway, and a portfolio with flyers.

Hello Sisters!

The show was a huge success. Lots of media coverage and a full house and a great show.
I'll get the webcasting video URL to you a.s.a.p. and a copy of the documentary when it's completed (about 4 weeks).
Your donations to the auction were very popular, they raised some $60 for the Burns Bog. Thanks so much for your addition to this event. Everyone loved your portfolio, I am sure there will be some visitors to your website due to this event. We will be mentioning your company in the documentary.

Yours most sincerely,

Carlton
